Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman made a royal decree about the religious and national holidays that will be observed by the state administrative apparatus, government agencies, and private sector establishments in 2023.
The decree lists the Islamic New Year, the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), Al Isra Wal Miraj, the Sultanate’s National Day, and the Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha holidays.
The decree says that the first of Muharram is an official holiday to mark the Islamic New Year and that the 12th of Rabi Al Awal is a holiday to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). The day for Al Isra Wal Miraj is the 27th of Rajab.
On November 18 and 19, there will be a holiday for National Day. On January 11, there is a holiday to remember the day Sultan Haitham became ruler.
From the 29th of Ramadan to the 3rd of Shawwal, the Eid Al Fitr holiday will be held. The Eid Al Adha holiday falls on Dhu Al Hijjah 9-12.
